Our mission is to create a living environment that serves people’s intrinsic needs, supports the human spirit and preserves the planet’s resources for future generations.
As both a California Benefit Corporation (an alternative form of legal incorporation that enables for-profit entities to integrate social and environmental goals into their business operations) and a certified B Corp, SLP believes the power of a solar business can be used to tackle important social and environmental problems. We strive to be good corporate citizens. Not only are we passionate about solar, but we support philanthropic events and organizations and are hands-on with the community.
Here are just a few activities our team has engaged in recently with their dedicated “Volunteer Paid Time Off” hours.
Blake – PE, LEED AP
Director of Innovation & Technical Excellence
Blake saves lives through the Bay Area Mountain Rescue Unit. He has also volunteered for the National Park Service in Alaska’s Denali National Park, where he completed two month long mountain rescue patrols on the Ruth Glacier and on Denali itself. His most recent rescue involved an injured woman who fell off a cliff. She had been alone for 9 days in the Sierra National Forest location.
Erinne Davis – Project Manager
Erinne spent a morning with Save the Bay, working on a community project to restore and rejuvenate the native plants of the MLK Shoreline in Oakland. “It felt so good to work outside in the sun and the soil, giving my day’s labor back to the ground,” Erinne reported.
Jesse Quay – LEED AP
Senior Design Consultant
Jesse and Eric spent the morning at Garden Build, sponsored by Satellite Affordable Housing Associates. This senior affordable housing tenant community now enjoys new planters, fresh dirt a more tightly landscaped garden.
